Meeting and Fish Fry - Saturday, June 28th!!!   See "Meetings" for details.
The Lower Mountain Fork River Foundation (LMFRF) was founded in 2002 for the sole purpose of enhancement and improvement of the trout fisheries of the lower Mountain Fork River. The LMFRF donates directly to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation by funding particular projects which will improve trout habitat and fly fishing prospects for the anglers who have discovered the lower Mountain Fork River and know of its beauty and its potential for becoming a premier trout stream of the South.

The LMFRF has funded trout habitat projects and rearing stations for both brown and rainbow trout for release in the LMFR trophy water. But the main focus of the LMFRF has been to get cold water from the Broken Bow Reservoir into the river in order to maintain quality water temperature for the trout.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) presents the LMFRF with projects which needs additional funding. The Foundation directors and membership consider each project and vote on its merits. Approved projects are then funded through our donation given directly to the ODWC for 25% of the total approximate cost of the project.  Most projects meet requirements to receive 3 to 1 matching funds through Federal Aide in Sportfish Restoration funds.

The Lower Mountain Fork River Foundation would like to thank the Oklahoma Department of
Wildlife Conservation and the dedicated team of stream supervisors and biologists who have
provided countless hours in studying and working on the trout fishery of the lower
Mountain Fork River to make it the best trout stream in Oklahoma - and in the South!
