I feel like the single most important project the foundation needs to do is to get cold water from the lake. Most years, we will have 70 degree plus water flowing through the Spillway sluice around the September-October time frame. Sometimes earlier or later than those months. I feel like if we want to have a quality trout stream and have less a chance for a die off, then we need to get with the proper personel or agencies and find out about getting extension piping on the Spillway intake to reach the much deeper and colder water that lies just a ways off from the Spillway Dam. 20 years ago I was told from wildlife personel that 100 ft. water exist just a short ways off from the intake and the water temps were very cold there even in the mid summer. I wish we could get a move on this and finally have a quality stream with little chances of die-off from too warm water flowing through the gate during low lake level times. With this project done, it should ensure cold water for not only Zone I, but possilbly Zone II as well, and maybe less generations could be done to keep water temperatures in Zones II and III at adequate levels. Thus helping keep the lake level from getting as low like in previous years.
