Lower Mountain Fork River- Despite the recent heat wave, water temperatures are still good on the river.
Zone 1- The usual mix of Pheasant Tails, Hare’s Ears, Sowbugs, and Midges are working well when fished in the deeper runs and holes. Hexagenia Mayflies are hatching in the Evening Hole at sundown. Attractor patterns like Stimulators, Humpies and Royal Wulffs are a good choice in faster water sections, especially when combined with a dropper nymph.
Zone 2- Streamers are producing some large, pretty Trout when the bite is on. Black Stimulators and Hoppers are getting some top water attention in the mornings. Power generation usually begins by 11:30 AM. Hexagenia are hatching on days when generation ends before dark.
